washing over me like crashing, cresting waves.
You bring me back up,
buoyant as a ball we’d throw as kids,
and I feel that light surge through me
a little too fast, or
a little too bright, or
a little too warm,
and I’m just okay with that.
I’m just okay with a love I’ve never felt,
learning who I am as if I were discovering the plot of the game,
and I develop like the characters,
and in that end, I think I’d cry salty-sweet,
happy tears that roll down your chest.
